At times, when shopping in the Harajuku and Omotesando area of Tokyo, it can seem like there is a shortage of men’s fashion that isn’t from a department store. Of course there are the classic Japanese clothing brands for men like Stussy or BAPE (A Bathing Ape) which have such a following in the Japanese fashion community that you can see several people wearing the same exact shirt in one day. But if you are a guy in Harajuku and Omotesando on the prowl for some unique men’s fashion that isn’t a default tailored suit (although the James Bond look will never be out of style), you should wander into the maze-like backstreets of Omotesando and visit Bounty Hunter.
Bounty Hunter is a small store located next to the Watari Museum of Contemporary Art. Though the exterior is nondescript, as soon as you step under the angled wood awning, you’ll be surrounded by fashion geared towards punk teenagers who have grown into stylish punk adults. While the clothing here is mostly in simple black and white without much glitter and glam, the easy flow of the clothing inside of Bounty Hunter is extremely appealing. Most of their apparel features their “BH” logo, but you can also find a variety of skull and cross bone motifs, screen printed T-shirts and jerseys, and rugged plaid button down shirts. For bottoms, their line of “eazy pants” with its loud and bold patterns is perfect for a street punk’s weekend style. Bounty Hunter also shows a touch of humor by offering updated Charlie Brown patterned shirts.
Bounty Hunter can also provide you with plenty of hardware and other accessories to supplement your wardrobe. You can pick up lots of Bounty Hunter brand key rings, simple but hip jewelry, and plenty of handkerchiefs to accent your back pocket. Along with men’s apparel, Bounty Hunter also offers lifestyle items like beer cozies and cooking aprons.
If you are still embracing the punk lifestyle but want to update it to be more streamlined and modern look, then Bounty Hunter Tokyo is the place for you!
