From it’s humble beginning in 1779, Hakusan Shop has been a leader in porcelain products since post-war Japan. Hailing from a small porcelain producing city named Hasami, Hakusan comes from literally hundreds of years of Japanese culture and tradition. Ex-owner/designer Masahiro Mori led the company since it established itself in Tokyo in the late 1950′s. Mori’s designs represent the minimalism and elegance of Japanese culture and have won him countless good design awards throughout his life.
Since Mori’s passing, Hakusan has carried on Mori’s philosophy into every piece that is crafted by the company. Hakusan Shop, alongside the artistic genius Mori has invested into the company, has transformed the look of everyday household tableware in Japan.
Along the busy streets of Omotesando’s, Mori’s Hakusan Shop can be found, where many of the company’s most recent designs are available for purchase. Perhaps the only thing more impressive than each of the store’s beautiful designs are the prices of the many porcelain products offered by Hakusan; Prices (and products) which have brought people from all over Tokyo into its doors. Those looking for more modern yet traditional Japanese tableware are certain to find exactly what they are looking for in Omotesando’s Hakusan Shop. Be sure to check it out the next time you are in the area.
