Home Men's Fashion Sacai

Everyone has that favorite sweater that they think “goes with everything.” But when in Japan, why not give an update to your knitwear? There are hundreds of choices throughout the Shibuya, Harajuku, and Shinjuku trifecta of fashion but there are also the hidden designer gems that give meaning to the saying quality over quantity. Just to the East of the Omotesando train station in the neighborhood of Minami-aoyama lies the flagship store of up and coming fashion designer Sacai (the bashful designer behind the name is Chitose Abe) whose designs have caught the attention and love of an equally popular celebrity, Pharrell. Although the label was founded in 1999, this designers flair for combining clean cut lines and odd hemlines combines with whimsical cutouts and patterns have slowly turned ripples into waves in the world of fashion.

Sacai’s growing popularity within the Hollywood and fashion circles makes it all the more special that the flagship store is so easily accessible and even more so that it is not a label that is entirely unaffordable. With the slow but sure fame and notoriety being added to Sacai’s repertoire with all the recent press, there is no better addition to you wardrobe right now than an infamous Sacai loose knit sweater or tissue t-shirt with a sassy saying or far out but sophisticated print. Although Sacai is known for their sweaters and outerwear, the savvy shopper keen enough to find this tucked away palace of alpaca and cotton will be satisfied with the wide selection of (maybe more reasonably priced than a full sweater or light jacket) accessories including scarves and other kinds of headwear. It is not just the female shoppers and fashionistas of the world that will be satisfied with a Sacai visit during their Japan tour because Sacai has been a long standing contributor to the ever expanding sphere of men’s fashion. Male visitors to the Sacai store in Omotesando will not leave disappointed with just as much fashionable and innovative outerwear, clothing, and accessories as their female counterparts.

If you find yourself on the East side of the Omotesando train station, be sure to give Sacai a lengthy investigation because not only will the brick and leaf shrouded exterior peak your curiosity, but the oh-so-relevant fashion on the inside will hold you.
